Testing Steps

Step 1: Access the Test Search Interface

Navigate to your Search Configuration page to access the test search feature.

Go to your AI Search project dashboard
Select your project from the projects list
Click on the 'Search Configuration' section
Look for the 'Test Your Search' panel on the right side of the screen

Step 2: Ensure Your Configuration is Complete

Verify that your search configuration is properly set up before testing.

Check that your configuration status shows as 'Complete' or 'Ready'
Ensure your data sources have been indexed successfully
Verify that result attributes are properly configured
Confirm that the system has finished processing your content

Step 3: Choose Your Search Mode

Select between keyword search and AI search modes.

Use the toggle switch in the search input field
Keyword Search: Traditional exact match searching
AI Search: Semantic search using artificial intelligence
The current mode is displayed below the search input

Step 4: Enter Your Test Query

Type your search query in the test input field.

Enter your search term in the 'Test Query' field
Try different types of queries to test various scenarios
Press Enter or click the 'Search' button to execute
Wait for the search results to appear

Step 5: Review Search Results

Analyze the returned results for quality and relevance.

Check if results are relevant to your search query
Review the displayed attributes and their formatting
Verify that result deduplication is working correctly
Ensure price and numeric fields are properly formatted

Test Different Query Types

Try specific product names or exact terms
Test partial matches and similar words
Use descriptive phrases for AI search mode
Test queries with typos or variations

Compare Search Modes

Test the same query in both keyword and AI search modes
Evaluate which mode provides better results for different query types
Check if AI search understands context and intent
Verify that keyword search works for exact matches

Validate Result Quality

Ensure results are relevant to the search query
Check that all configured attributes are displayed correctly
Verify price formatting includes currency symbols
Confirm that duplicate results are filtered out

Important Notes

Testing is only available when your configuration status is 'Complete'
The test search uses the same search engine that your users will interact with
Results are filtered to show unique items based on title when available
Any configuration changes require re-testing to ensure proper functionality
Search results are based on your indexed data sources and configured attributes

Troubleshooting

Search button is disabled

Check that your configuration status is 'Complete'
Ensure you have entered a search query
Wait for any ongoing indexing processes to finish
Refresh the page if the interface appears stuck

No results returned

Verify that your data sources have been properly indexed
Try different search terms or broader queries
Check if your search query matches the indexed content
Switch between keyword and AI search modes

Results are not relevant

Ensure your data sources contain relevant content
Try using AI search mode for better semantic matching
Check that result attributes are configured correctly
Verify that your indexed data is accurate and complete

Search shows error messages

Check your internet connection
Verify that your API configuration is correct
Ensure your search API key is valid and active
Wait a moment and try searching again
